I have had many different skimmers during my reefing experience (Reef Octopus, Tunze, CoralLife, Bubble Magnus) and I just purchased the NYOS 120 for my 45.2 frag tank. I just wanted to share that this has been by far the easiest for me to dial-in and it pulls lots of skim mate. This morning when I cleaned the collection cup I was greeted with a really smelly cup of skim mate and I clean it once a week. I only have 5 small fish - must be feeding a little too much.

I know this skimmer is a little pricier that I would like, but it is the last one I hope to buy for this tank. I have 8.0 inches of water in the sump (Protein Skimmer Chamber) and just assembled the skimmer and started it running. Only took about three days to really be dialed in and me to quit fiddling with the tuning. Hope that helps if anyone is looking at this skimmer.

I saw this skimmer at Macna when we had it here in sd, and I was impressed w/ design and how quiet it was.
Been watching for feedback since, it's on my shopping list.

I am glad I watched several of the YouTube’s that are available because the assembly went much more effectively

i have the 160 and its a beast! it has the issue that if my feed mode is connected to cutting the skimmer power that the skimmer starts up without bubbles, motor is on. seems common and ecotech/nyos feedback is dont turn off the skimmer which is BS.

i have found though if i let it run that way the air eventually mixes in with the pump about 5-10 minutes later, if im impatient i blow into the venturi tube and all is well.

I have the 160 as well, and by far the favorite skimmer I have owned. So easy to setup, but how quiet it is, was the main selling point! :)
