Anyone know anything about 02 emitters? And their effect on reef tanks? (Was thinking about them in replace of a traditional airstone but cant manage to find much about them

They're designed for hydroponics to maximize growth. That level of constant O2 is expensive, temporary and not needed for aquarium fish (FW or SW). I also remember reading somewhere that too high of O2 can cause issues with gills (but that could be only FW or completely inaccurate). It's best to concentrate on keeping O2 above min and not trying to maximize beyond saturation.

You can't keep more O2 than saturation in your tank - which is about 7 ppm at most common temperature reef tanks. Saturation is achieved through surface agitation primarily. Your air stone is both providing agitation and vertical flow which is key. It's also doing this cheaply. A small power head pointed up or the typical flow we have in reef tanks now does the same thing.

Hey that was well said I was mostly wondering if they would ever implement them in protien skimmers but sounds like it's not likely thanks again
