occelaris eggs?

I notice what I thought was a patch of algae a few days ago. But after watching my clowns "tend" to it, I'm thinkin maybe eggs. Anyone?

I have a pair of clown fish for several years that laid eggs clockwise, what was so cool about that was when you looked at it at night with a flashlight ,they would glow , it was like looking at the night skies if you know when they were going to hatch. It would happen a couple of hours after the lights went out.

I have a 30 gallon dedicated refugium. No fish in it. Do you think it would be a waste of time to watch for them to hatch and syphon them out and put them in the refugium

you need rotifers to start with. you could also use parvo copepods.

Raising clown fish can be complicated, you need to set up a separate tank for the babies, it takes a lot of extra work and commitment. Check out the fish breeding forum on here.

Agreed. Our pair of Snowflakes lay regularly. My wife kept asking to raise them. I made her read what it takes to accomplish that and she no longer asks. Neither of us have the time or energy. So now we just look at them as great fish food for their tank mates.

Breeding fish burned me out so bad, I almost was tired of the entire hobby. It's an awesome experience though, Dude (one I won't be repeating. LOL!)

I am raising 2 types of clownfish. I wish you could just put them into a refugium. It is a lot of work and cost add up quick.
