Here I wanted to add 2 more videos of my hippo ... well I don’t have the hippo no more
After she /he always picked up everything from the right side of the tank and actually picked on the mandarin until he had no dorsal fin left and eventually died .... the Hippo went to the LFS

I just talked about my Achilles and Gem Tang hunting and eating cleaner shrimp ..... and my purple developing a taste for bright brain coral
I guess pick the coolest Tangs lol

That is funny! I been wondering if anyone else had the same problems with them. Mine started pulling all my frags off the racks and dropping them all over the tank. I would have to hunt and search for them to put back. Then I would walk away it would go back move them again so it had to be moved to its own tank.

Some tangs, wrasse and triggers do this. It’s a method of setting their environment to their liking

That is funny as well.... I guess the clean house :)

Hippos are just like this. They develop odd habits and are more or less neurotic alot of the time. For some reason I've seen it more in them than in any other tang..

I actually think it is pretty cool because it also shows us how little we actually know about fish in the ocean. I refuse to think the old saying fish are dumb and forget within 6 min or something like that. I totally disagree....but thats just me ;)

I feel like that generalization is based on freshwater fish, which, yeah, I think alot of them are pretty dumb. With saltwater, the whole reason I love it, is that even the tiny little dottyback, is really a highly intelligent fish, with very advanced behaviours and personality. Whereas your average neon tetra is a floating brick.
