Update:

Good news! Some laboratory devices are already up and running again.

As we informed you a few days ago, the floods have unfortunately not spared us either. But there is already light at the end of the tunnel: we are working tirelessly to ensure that our laboratory can serve you as quickly as possible in the usual quality. The first devices are ready for use and we hope to be fully available for you again next week.

Another positive news: Order processing from ourwebshop is running smoothly and all products are available - fortunately, production has not been affected.

****Update 9/18****
LAB PROGRESS / RESTART OF ICP ANALYSIS
Good, not so good and great news all combined here for all you guys in a short summary.
The Laboratory made luckily a surprisingly fast re-recovery in it’s new place. IC processing will start on Friday and this weekend, likely the ICP-MS machines on the weekend or otherwise Monday. Remember this laboratory test is done across multiple analytical steps, not just a single machine in a room! Oceamo feels comfortable to be able to open the registration portal on Friday, so sampling can continue for new tests that need to be sent from anyone!

So what are the not so good news? The OES machine will not be used initially, we wanted to make the Lab analysis working first and needed the MS machine up and running first. That means in the initial reopening phase we won’t measure the RODI water (which is measured on the OES machines), and no Phosphate (will continue very shortly however). Good is that all OES tests that arrive will be tested as an MS test, of course only until the OES machine is up and running as well. So the OES samples will need to be treated and assessed in the Moonshiners ICP-MS assessment and not in the ICP-OES assessment tool, so the OES guys get a taste of what a MS test is . If you are an OES tester and see real numbers for Manganese, Iron, Copper, Selenium, Chromium, Cobalt and Tin than you were tested on a MS machine.

Overall the lab processes are trialing now, Chris and his team do have to adapt a bit to the new “not that super optimized” water analysis process and overall the testing in the temporary lab is not as fast as it was in the old lab.
They hope and feel all instruments are fine and will perform and function as intended after the move.

So normal Laboratory Services with the mentioned limitations will start this weekend and early next week official. Chris will work off the backlog of the samples that arrived in the lab this week after UPS was able to deliver the samples.
I have also recorded all Test sample numbers & USPS tracking and envelopes that arrived this week and have shipped them secretly and preventively to the lab even while we had no idea when and how long the restart will take. So this is sort of paying off now, so that Chris can work off these samples as well next week. Some may not even notice this significant interruption in the process. Let’s see how this goes. So many have asked me if the samples could be tested anyways and not discarded, even if they take longer than normal, but for many the point in time of sampling is very important as part of things they have done or want clarity on.

I hope this info reaches many of you in a positive way.
We sincerely appreciate all the messages and wishes and offers for help in many ways over the last few days.

LAB PROGRESS / RESTART OF ICP ANALYSIS 20/09/24

Good, not so good, and great news all in one quick update!

The lab has made a surprisingly fast recovery at its new location, and analysis processing will begin on Friday and over the weekend. The ICP-MS machine is expected to be up and running early next week. It’s important to remember that Oceamo’s laboratory analysis involves multiple analytical steps, and does not use just a single machine!
Oceamo feels confident enough to reopen the registration portal on today, so sampling can resume for new tests. Please start sending your samples—we’ll send them out again on Wednesday, 26th September for you.

Now, the not-so-good news: the OES machine won’t be used initially. The ICP-MS machine will be the first to come online.

This means that in the initial reopening phase, we won’t be measuring RODI water (which is handled by the OES machine) and there will be no phosphate testing—although that will resume shortly.
The good news? All OES tests that arrive will be analyzed using the ICP-MS machine, so OES customers will get to experience the detailed measurements provided by the MS test . If you see real numbers for Manganese, Iron, Copper, Selenium, Chromium, Cobalt, and Tin, it means your test was processed on the MS machine.

Full laboratory services, with the temporary limitations mentioned, will officially start this weekend and early next week. Christoph will also begin working through the backlog of samples that were delivered during his holiday and before the flooding.

I’ve kept a record of all analyses received and sent to the lab each and every week, so we’ll ensure that no samples are overlooked. Some of you may not even notice the interruption in service. I understand many of you have asked if your samples could still be tested, even with longer turnaround times, especially when the timing of your sample is important for tracking progress.

I hope this update reaches you positively, and we sincerely appreciate all the messages, well-wishes, and offers of help over the past few days.

Apart from minor restrictions (currently no phosphate measuring and no free osmosis water check), we are back in operation in the laboratory and ready to analyze samples. All samples that are already with us will be processed in the next few days.​
