I been wanting to upgrade my lighting to these
My only question is that almost all I have seen are over open top tanks. Do you have to have glass lids off? Will it not be as efficient if it goes through glass hoods?

No, you don't have to remove the glass lids, but you'll need to keep them clean.

I clean them pretty regularly. I have a couple that clean up good but the other 2 seem to keep a little salt look. I will try to find something that will take it off
