Hi Nick, I didn't actually modify this particular unit, I bought it already done.. mlivvy is you man, I think he has some posts out there on how he modified. It does work great!

I'm not certain, but think you can use "straight" lengths instead of legs on one side to link them together. The lengths would need to be pretty sturdy to prevent sagging.

Greatly appreciated however the link doesn't work. I'm not opposed to sending these units out to get modified. Or if provided with the correct information I'm extremely mechanically inclined and I know that this is something I could handle.
