Ocean Revive T247 settings

Thanks for the reply! I am thinking about buying an apogee sq 420 as I live in the Caribbean and no one will rent outside the continental us. I am trying to convince myself to just use one of the ocean revives and not jump on the "latest and greatest " bandwagon andpurchase a kessil. Lol. This is the 55 gallon under the 2 ocean revives currently!

Is that a pale barred coris? If so, does it go after inverts?

Are there any FB groups down there that may chip in to get a community one? I am in Tampa FL and that's what we did. Just have to be a member for $25 annually and u r good. U can borrow it whenever u want for no fee or anything.
And I'm not on Facebook...

Its actually two of these. They do eat my snails and hermits regularly but i can collect those locally so it's not a problem. I've had a pair of banded coral shrimp for over a year and they haven't bothered them.

Maybe turn the whites off for a little while and go exclusively blue? Otherwise I had a similar tank to yours and did 30% white and 100% blue with the fixture ~20" off the tank

im setting up a tank with what ive got around for my daughter. ive got an aqueon 20 gallon high 24x12x16. I have this ocean revive light and was wondering if anyone used this light of a tank this size and what were your channel 1 and channel 2 settings? goal is to be able to grow anything in the tank so par up to 350 is desirable. thanks in advanced

As far as that light goes, you will be able to grow anything. Just be aware, it is a very powerful light for a tank that size and puts out crazy par. I would definitely start on lower settings and see how things go. A par meter would be a great tool for setting the light up if you can borrow or rent one. This is 2 of them over a 55 at lower settings. I want to say whites were around 15% and blues around 30-35.

I don't have that specific tank size, but I think that mounting the light up at least a foot above the top of the water and at a max 40% (both channels combined) would be a good start. I HIGHLY recommend renting a par meter. The reason for this is that you can mount the light higher and increase the intensity, which will give you a better spread.

If you have to use the arms, beware of a hotspot that will form in the middle of the tank. In this scenario, I would not go above 30% without a par meter.

On my 75 gallon, I have 50% blue and 10% white (the mixed channel) which gives me a 350 par hotspot in the center about halfway down the tank. I use the arms as I can't hang the light. In the surounding area directly underneath the fixture, I get around 120-150 at that depth, followed up a drop off from 50-90 outside that. Again, this is because the light is too close to the surface using the included mounting legs. Corals that go under the center of the light (at or above the halfway height of the tank) grow extremely slowly, or almost not at all.

I just purchased an ocean revive T247 fixture and I was wondering at what intensity I should have it. I currently have it mounted on a standard 29g (30in x 13in x 19in) 6 inches above water. 50% blue and 7% white. I’m housing LPS corals such as torches, hammers and bubble coral.

I'd go with 30 blue and 5-10 white for now. I run 50 blue 10 white on my 75 gallon. If you get the chance, rent a par meter. Remember the exact center will be a hot spot.
