I recently was on NY Aquatic's website and saw an Ocean Surgeonfish and got a little curious.... I have a 120 gallon tank, 4ft length x 2ft width x 2ft height, and was wondering if he/she would fit comfortably for it's lifespan in my tank. I am just wondering, and hope I can get your opinion on it.
Thanks!! :)

Very beautiful tang but as above they get big. Love seeing them when diving the Caribbean. Nice Ocean Surgeonfish at the very beginning of this video taken in Cozumel.

That is a beautiful video!!! Absolutely breathtaking!!! I mean seriously, kudos to you, that was gorgeous!! What is the black fish around 0:20 seconds?? I'm probably being crazy, asking about fish from a video, but is he reef safe?? How big does he get?

Do you mean this guy?

Also a very cool fish, but also get big....about a foot long from my observation. Invertebrates would be toast with him I'm sure.

Okay, thank you all so much... I guess those are both no-go's then. That's alright! Any other medium sized (about up to 10 inches), reef safe fish you recommend??

A bristletooth tang C. flavicauda, C. binotatus, C. truncatus, C. tominiensis and C. strigosus are all good choices. A Zebrasoma tang (except for the chevron, sailfin) would be ok.

Copperband and and Margined butterfly fish are relatively reef safe (tube worms/feather dusters the main threats)...a little harder to get eating but when successful they are very hardy.
