Hey guys, I live near the Pacific Ocean and so the LFS sells ocean water. The salinity varies from 1.022 to 1.024 most times. I add Red Sea pro to bring it to 1.026. Any thoughts? Haven’t noticed anything negative so far using it for my weekly water change.

Only thing I would want to know is where they get it from. Close to marinas could have who knows what in it.

Totally fine as long as the water is not collected near any sources of pollutants or run-off. If it's practical for you, it might even be worth it to invest in a large water container and collect the water yourself so that you can be sure of its contents. If you're worried, you could always run an ICP test on some of the water your LFS sells you. That'll tell you if it has anything in it that shouldn't be there.

I have been using New York water for 50 years. No problems yet.
