Hi,

I've got an old Oceanic BioCube 29 that I've upgraded the return pump to a Cobalt MJ 1200 on. I've also got a small, basic Aquatop MR-20 Media Reactor that hangs on the back, which I run carbon in. I'm wondering if anyone has split the return tube using a Y-fitting to run both the built-in filtration as well as an external reactor, skimmer, etc. The upgraded pump is 295 GPH. The reactor that I'm running came with a pump, but I can't seem to get it to fit anywhere in the back that looks decent, so I'm hoping to be able to split the return tube to run both. Has anyone done this? Do you think it'd be possible with the pump that I've got, or should I upgraded to a larger size Sicce or MaxiJet pump?

The MJ1200 is great as a return pump for a BC29 but will be underpowered if running as both a return and reactor pump. When I ran my Oceanic BC29, I used the MJ1200 as a return and used an Aquamaxx FR-S internal media reactor. The FR-S came with its own Sicce Micra pump was nice and compact enough to fit in chamber 2 next to my InTank media basket.
