Hi Guys

Looking at getting an Oceans Motions unit as I was given several pumps by a mate all new in a boxes there all Jebao 4 X DCP18000 2 X DC10000 2 x DCP5500 he was once in the industry, yes clearly there not the market leaders in pumps but lets put that a side
 • I’ll use the DCP 5500 to run a few media filters
 • I’ll use the DCP10000 as a return pumps
 • I’ll use the DCP18000 in my closed loop circulation
Is there a wave maker unit that can control the Jebao? Or is my only option a Oceans Motions?

Ive just come across this product Derkroon Flow wolf?

Works like OM but tough to get in the US and I think more $$. It does have more features though.
Oceans Motions is extremely responsive to its customers questioning.
I'm using one on my 200 I'm currently assembling.

I just found out that the Flow wolf is only good 14000 LPH which would mean Id need 3 of them. I wonder if OM has a limit on LPH

Sea Swirl Eeeewww I'll look that one up

No Sea Swirl other wise I would of went with wave makers to which I very much dislike

If I recall correctly, the OM is in the range of 28,000 LPH.

Is OM still in business? I've been very happy with mine. It's been working flawlessly for almost 4 years.

I'm going with a 4 way on my 200. They've been extremely helpful and responsive to all my questions.

How big of a tank? Once you get big enough, OM on a closed loop with eductors is about the only way to go.

Sea Sweep with a Tunze 6155 or 6200 (the big ones) can do an awesome job at non-static water movement.

I will not likely use any Flow Type pumps on any tank over 300g again.

A sea Swirl was suggest by saf1 and not knowing what was I googled it, and it looked like power head so I dismissed it some more research on it and I thing its may be my answer

This thread still relevant? You can get adapters for Jebao pumps so you can control flow with your apex. I have a jeabo DCP on my closed loop and its awesome!

yes still relevant, I didn't Know apex can control jabeo, but like a wave maker? if so that is awesome, as I was going down the line of the hydros

Good info, thanks everyone for the good read.

That is my understanding yes. I am a huge fan of Jebao pumps. People like to hate on them but i have one that has been running for over 6 years. The new one is so quiet you have to put your hand on it to make sure it is on.

Of you havent picked up an ocean motions you should check these out...

I'm going to pick one up for my next build.

Thats pretty cool, and in the context of ‘overpriced’ German gear ..... not a bad price. Looks to be an updated version of the flow wolf (same manufacturer) . Input/output sizes are the same as the OM, so flow should be broadly equivalent. Might have to try one myself.

The jebaos should have a soft start feature, so turning them on and off might not be effective like a wavemaker. They do make a dongle to connect them to an apex. I am not sure of the correct name though.
