In the last 12 months I have successfully introduced various fish into the DT including tangs, angels, wrasses, butterfly, etc. Unexpectedly, I keep having problem with the( easy?) Ocellaris clown. Most died in QT( even using TTM).

They kept losing appetite and started to spit out food, hung around for a week or two then died. No external symptoms at all. Two that I kept in QT for a month that seemed fine, but then after a week or 2 in the DT they developed the same symptom. None of the fish in DT is affected.

I suspected internal parasite and treated some with General Cure( Metronidazole based) that did not seem to help. I do question the direction for only 2 treatments though............

They're cheaper wild caught ones and I prob would have better success with tank raised ones. But I'd still like to know whay ??? 10 years ago I had "no problems" keeping 4 wild caught ones( none died) with much less care.

We have been seeing some pretty nasty bacterial infections that do not show any external symptoms, yet examination after passing there was significant infection in the internal organs, especially the liver.
And we have also seen an up tick of internal parasites that are requiring more than General Cure or PraziPro, to something like levamisole, piperazine, fenbedazole.
But you are right. I've had very good luck with ORA clownfish as being very healthy.

These affect all clowns or Ocellaris only? I have no problems with Maroons.........
And if indeed it's bacteria related wouldn't the fish die quicker( some hung on for 2 weeks)? Thank you!
