Hi, I have noticed that my clownfish have been swimming vertically after the light turns on and after I just added a wave maker near the filter opening. They usually sleep there at night, but they now swim vertically until all the lights are off. Then they move to the wave makers spot. But since I added it, they have started to swim vertically. All my water parameters are okay for them. Does anyone know what this is?

I can’t see the video but My pair of Black Ocs does this most of the day and night for 4 years.
Not unusual IMM. Just hanging out in their territory, if your water chemistry is good, they should be fine.
They can be real “clowns”

I can't get your video to run without purchasing something. Can you load it another way? I am curious if mine are doing the same thing.

I’m sorry, I will add the video to this message. Here you are

Anecdotal /small sample size disclaimer.....
The goofy swimming thing seems more prevalent with domestic lines of clowns ... I see my midnight ocellaris do this but my Saddlebacks behave more like “pre-90’s” wild type clowns...
just a theory but I think inbreeding has jacked clowns up

My 2 clowns do the same thing here and there, when I had a tank about 10 years ago my clowns did it also. I think it is normal clown behavior. If I get up on the middle of the night and shine a light at the tank both my clowns are doing this near the return. Your clown look healthy so imo ots not an issue.

Hmm. I’m not sure either why it’s not working. It’s not working for me either. But they are just swimming vertically not up and down though just at the bottom of the tank swimming vertically.
