I got two "Premium" Ocellaris clownfish from a local Petco, just looking for some help identifying their species. I'm also curious if one might actually be a percula. They've been together in the tank for about a month and get along great, no issues with aggression, they do their little dance on occasion to establish who's the alpha (female), but other than that they zoom around the tank together really well. Any help is greatly appreciated!

So more likely it's a Picasso Percula then? That's what I was thinking (and hoping that it wasn't a Gladiator which I've heard can be a little more aggressive). Any guess on the other? If the other is a Snow Onyx that's a mix of Percula and Ocellaris, right? They should continue to be harmonious one would suspect??

Pretty sure the left one is a percula of some form. If they’re from Petco they are most likely ORA, so go have a look at their page.

I will be that person. Amphiprion ocellaris is the genus and species name. What you probably wanted is what morph it is. Kind of like breed of dog. They are all Canis lupus familiaris.

Although, it does look as though you have one A. percula and one A. ocellaris. Now adays with the hybrids it is even harder to identify. They are pretty though.

Makes sense and I appreciate the clarification. Just proof I'm new to the hobby :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing::rolling-on-the-floor-laughing: Thanks everyone.

It probably doesn't matter since they're both biding their time until they hatch their murderous plot...
Who will strike first!?! Dun dun duuuuuuun! They're the only two fish in the tank so it will be last man standing if it comes to that. I've heard people say they go great until they don't and one will turn on the other after a couple of months. Don't know if there's a way to avoid that, or if it's just luck of the draw. Maybe changing the aquascape semi-frequently so neither gets overly comfortable but that seems like a pain.

Oh, super helpful. Does Petco exclusively source ORA fish for their marine fish?

Not exclusively, individual stores have a list of 6+ distributors I believe but Petco does a lot of aquacultured. On a national level that’s ORA and Biota. My local Petco manager explained some of it. Most (all?) the coral comes from there too.
