I got a new ocellaris clown 2 days ago and it wont eat :/ I've tried feeding it New Life Spectrum pellets and he wont even bother to look at them. He took a nibble at one and spit it right back out but that's about it. I'm guessing he's either a bit shy still or he was used to eating frozen foods over at the LFS (which I don't have at this moment) I don't really know what to do :/ worst thing is that im leaving for the weekend and im not sure if ill be able to go and get some Mysis shrimp for him to eat :/ is there a way I can get him used to eating pellets ?

If you can't get mysis shrimp, try table shrimp or squid from the supermarket. I use purely those to feed my snowflake eel.
Garlic is a good appetite stimulator, maybe soak the pellets slightly before feeding?

The thing is that i already tried to feed it some squid :/ and he took a bite of it but then spit it out. I dont know i guess mysis is the last option.

I use this one in particular, Omega One marine micro
pellets with garlic and they love it.
Good luck.

I have never had any trouble getting mine to eat; presenting any type of food has worked for me. Sorry to hear you're having trouble; I generally would not add anything new to my tank right before going away.

When I got my first fish, two 1 Inch clowns, the little guys wouldn't eat! Same issue as you, put the pellet/shrimp/flake in its mouth then spit it out. I swear they didn't eat for 2 weeks! I kept catching them eating the amphipods off my rocks though. Mine were tank breed and raised so I don't know why they where picky eaters. The day I decided to add my tiny blue regal tang to the tank they decided they wanted to eat so they could be big and strong and not get bullied by the tang.

Hmmm very interesting. One thing i did notice is that my pods are gone too thats weird. I guess either my new clown or camel shrimp are eating them. Ill run down to the LFS monday or so and ill buy some mysis. See if they eat that. Or else i dont know what im gunna do lol
