I just got this and another little guy about 3 days ago. Didn’t notice this at the time. They’re moving around a lot and eating well. I can only see or notice it when he ticks the fin to his side, not when it’s extended. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

55g tank, Ammonia 0, Nitrites 0, Nitrates >5, SG 1.025, Temp 78
Stock: 2 Ocellaris, 1 Convict, 10 hermits, 8 Astrea snails, 2 turbo snails, 1 Macrodactyla, 1 small bunch of Zoas, 1 small bunch of pulsing Xenia, and 1 three head branch on candy cane coral

Appears to be an injury that has become infected, likely bacterial
Seachem kanaplex or neoplex should clear this up in a separate quarantine tank

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

The picture isn't super clear. You might be able to post a video that is clearer (links to YouTube work well).
Is the spot on the fin or on the body?

Jay

Thank you both for the quick replies. Auto-correct got me once again in the title haha. I’ll try to get a video today and post it.
On a separate, but equal, note: I was able to get this photo last night of the other Ocellaris. This little bump on the first white band near the jaw wasn’t there when I purchased them either. Are they possibly fighting with each other?

The clowns could be fighting. They can be pretty sly about it - while you are watching them, they stop fighting. You could set up your phone to record them, then leave the room. However, I don't see ripped fins as I would expect if they were bickering.

In this fish, there seems to be a gray lesion on its right pectoral fin, is that just an artifact of the photo?

That, I believe, is just an artifact. I don’t see anything like that in person. I took some videos and I’ll upload them in the AM. Thanks again to everyone for the help.

This is all relatively new to me. I research and read a lot about fishkeeping and aquariums but first hand experience is still best, which is what I lack most.

IMO - the convict is much worse than the clown...it is thin and swimming with a shimmy. Is it eating? All I can see on the clownfish is some minor skin discoloration, it is holding its fins well and not breathing fast.

Do you have a treatment tank available?

Yes, I have a QT tank available. I also have Melafix, ICH-X, and Stress Coat+ on hand. The convict is munching all the time on the algae in the tank. I put Nori in there often but it doesn’t seem super interested. What should I do? What would you do?
