Octo Classic 2000-HOB Pump Failure

I've had my protein skimmer since December, 2019 and it's worked fine until now. Today, I turned off all of the equipment via the power switch on the equipment surge suppressor for a water change. I did the water change as usual and when finished, turned the equipment back on. Everything is fine but the pump on the skimmer.

I've submitted a ticket with CoralVUE and have tried to call (no one was available).

Skimmer is down at this point. Any tips on fixing? I have ensured no leaks or blockage and I've pulled the venturi off as well. Nothing changed other than turning it off and back on.

I have the classic HOB 1000 and did something like that once. I held my finger over the end of the air line for about 20 to 30 seconds which seemed to reprime everything and it started working perfect. I may have gotten lucky, but give it a shot

Mine had done that in the past. What is the water level in the skimmer? Sometimes adding a little more water to the main chamber of the skimmer works. Also i had to play with the air adjustment that comes off the air tube. If i closed it off and then turned the skimmer on it would kick in. Have you done regular maintenance on the pump?

Add more water. Turn it off snd back on (seriously)

Thanks guys for the assist. The water level was good, I did see that in the limited information provided with the skimmer. Priming the pump as suggested was the trick...so I'm back in operation!
