Octo VarioS 6 question

Guys, just got mey tank finally wet, cycling. First day today running the pump. Red Sea Reefer 250, got VarioS 6 for extra power given the manifold. One of the reasons I chose this pump is due to everyone claiming that its “dead silent”. Well, not in my case. I can hear it loud and clear from 10 feet away, kind of humming noise like a refrigerator. Anyone have any experience with this? I have hard plumbed it. Do they need to break in or shoild I start calling customer support? Thanks guys.

Shouldn't have to break in, I have an S4 and it's been silent. Is it vibrating against the glass? Yes I would definitely call customer service, they are great pumps though!

Thanks, - no, its not touching the glass. I am puzzled. Will call them tomorrow. Replacing this thing will be a major hassle.

It's pretty easy to disassemble, have you tried doing that and making sure it's clean assuming you bought it new, so it should be.

I have the Varios 8 and a Varios 2 running in my sump. The 8 is on level 3 and the 2 is all the way up. They are silent. The 8 has 4” of silicone hose and the 2 is with pool flex pvc. But the intake screens do tough the slides of my sump and I have no sound.

I think somethings wrong with it.

Thanks., guys, - have not disassembled as its brand new. Dont want to void any warranty at this point. I will call them.
