Octopus Reef Recirculating Skimmers

Can anyone give these a thumbs up and recommend something for a 100 gallon tank which will eventually go on a 190 gallon? I believe you need you need to but an additional pump as well? I don’t know much about them but hear good things . Looking for something that does not care about sump water level!

I was waiting for other members to chime in to share real-world experience, but I did ask our support staff what they thought. They felt that the ideal skimmer size for the 100 will be too small for a 190 and a skimmer for the 190 would be oversized for the 100. Not what you want to hear, I'm sure, but just wanted to pass along the feedback for what it's worth!

no 6" body skimmer is really appropriate for a 190gal...

Thanks Jon he is kinda stuck in the middle get an oversized skimmer for a 100-gallon tank and then upgrade the tank to 180. Or undersize the skimmer which more likely be in service for a while. Me no problem I have at least 5 skimmers.

Thank you for saying so! Sales for the line have really perked up in the New Year. I've noticed a lot of positive word-of-mouth lately in Facebook groups, so hopefully that trend continues! It all adds up, so we definitely appreciate you posting about it. I've got a couple of buddies in the hobby who recently gave the Elite a whirl. Both were pleasantly surprised of how quiet it is and how quickly it broke in: Day 1!

Coming from the skimmer design and mfg business, I think the Octo Elites are very well done. Feature rich performers at a good price.
