Octopus?

Pictures?!

I would do a species tank, they're not incredibly long lived, but super intelligent and observant. Tight fitting lid is a must though, or you can do what tampa aquarium does and put fake grass on the underside of your cover, they don't like that so much...
 
Here it is! I have no other tank :(

Dwarf octopi are one of the potential hitchhikers on TBS live rock.
In the spring they come in the size of a pea, summer the size of a grape and fall the size of a fig. Very cool creatures for sure. Some of our lucky customers will set up a species only tank for them. These guys love to eat gorilla crabs!
If you don't want to keep the octopus, take to your LFS for store credit! $25-$50!
