Octopuses, Ecstasy and Chewbacca

Well, this was interesting. They basically gave an octopus MDMA and then let it decide if it would rather play with a Chewbacca doll or another octopus. The point was to study if octopuses have a system for switching social behavior on or off.

Yeah, I am still not sure how I feel about it other than it is interesting they thought to do it. It just kind of seems like some stoned researchers had a laugh at the idea and then said, “Well, why not?”
