This is rightLooks like galaxia to me, related to torches and other Euphyllia. This coral is notoriously aggressive, and should be placed 'downwind' of any other coral you don't want fried. They like medium light and flow, you should see the tentacles waving a lot but not 'snapping' in the flow.
lol. Me too.This is right
My bad, didn't realize it was on a frag plug, thought it was a large torch colony lol
They both are Euphyllia. I would not count on a galaxea getting along with other euphyllia types though, I've heard they are pretty aggressive.Thank you both. New to coral here… either would be Euphyllia?
Yea mine here in the pic are very retractedYes. You said it was longer tentacle when at shop or whatever right
Thanks! I’ll keep it away. The only coral it’s in tentacle reach is a Duncan at 4” maybe they’re both fragsThey both are Euphyllia. I would not count on a galaxea getting along with other euphyllia types though, I've heard they are pretty aggressive.
Haha awesome photo skillzYup galaxia for sure! This is right

Thanks and awesome! Yea it’s not permanently placed yet, still finding the perfect spot. It’s around the rock from a Duncan rnLooks like galaxia to me, related to torches and other Euphyllia. Though be careful as their sweepers can get up to 8 inches. I've never seen sweepers on mine personally, don't know if that's due to me keeping it 8 in away from everything (sweepers are a defense to kill neighboring coral to make room to grow/protect themselves) or due to the sea spider infestation I recently rediscoveredThanks and awesome! Galaxea are Euphilliids, but are not Euphyllia. Euphyllia is a separate genus from Galaxea. They both are Euphyllia. I would not count on a galaxea getting along with other euphyllia types though, I've heard they are pretty aggressive.
I've been wondering this for awhile, are alveopora acroporids?Galaxea are Euphilliids, but are not Euphyllia. Euphyllia is a separate genus from Galaxea.
Oh boy. 8” is like 1/2 my tiny tank and the last thing I need are spiders.Though be careful as their sweepers can get up to 8 inches.
