What do you consider an octospawn - an altered form of divisa, or yaeyamaensis?

I lean towards yaeyamaensis, which means every octospawn I've seen in someone's tank or online has been a divisa.

Yaeyamaensis.

I thought I had seen octospawn before but none of them looked like that. It's killer looking. Is it yours? Are they rare? My lfs has one labeled octospawn but it's not that.

This is what most would consider an octo because the nodes go down the tentacles further than a standard divisa. this one is mine BTW.

Oh that's in the wild. Crazy the one at my lfs definitely looks more like octopus arms then a regular frogspawn but that thing gets first place by a landslide lol.

Yeayamaensis at most better LFS consider it true octospawn. They will also label it as true yeayamaensis as not to be confused with faux octospawn. Have seen it at several places where i am. But does cost more than regular frogspawn. I also never saw it with the normal iridescent color of frogspawn. Always a translucent pink, tan or green.

My yaeyamaensis is hardier than I was led to believe. Doesn't seem to mind changes in lighting. Flow, etc

So if you saw someone post (here, another forum, etc) about an octospawn but it was a divisa, would you feel obligated to correct them? that's a dilemma of mine to be honest.

Very nice. historical (old) photos did not show bright colors. maybe they are now being collected in different areas. either way, my next purchase to fill out my euphyllia collection.
