Not sure if I should be concerned with it retracting. Turned down flow for now, what else? I’m going to try and test water this weekend.

Looks like its on its way out. Try dipping and check your parameters. Doesn't look too good though.
Forgot to mention that I just turned lights on after about 1 1/2 hours off so that is why it’s deflated. Just noticed this now that it has been receding in that one area.

With flow and lights on I’ll get another picture, looks fine then just that one area is alittle odd. I’ll also dip it tomorrow and test water if hopefully have enough time to this weekend.

So I thought it was one giant octospawn but when dipping I saw two months and I think that the area that looks like it was receding was another “head” of it that already bailed out. For more reference, my hammer coral had two heads and one bailed over a couple of weeks ago but the other head is doing better than ever now. Hmmm

Yes that is the most common iodine solution out there. Never used Iodine before but I know its some powerful stuff. And as for your coral, from my experience once my euphiylla look like that, they are almost always goners. But you might as well try.

Update photo. I ordered iodine. Looks good for now but I’m not taking risks anymore with corals bailing.

How many drops of iodine should I add to about half a gallon of saltwater?
I like to take tank water and put into a small tub. Drop enough iodine so that the water turns almost orangish brown. Dip for about 2-3 mins while swirling some water around using a turkey baster or pipette. Then dip in another tub of clean tank water and place back into tank.

FYI - the ratio of iodine to tank water is not known. Just need to go off of color. Too little and it won’t kill the bacteria present. Too much and it won’t hurt the coral IME.

Thanks! Will be doing this tomorrow

Just got done dipping it, my skin got stained but oh well, coral looked alittle bad once it got put in the tank but I turned down flow and lights off, now time to go to work.
