Odd black colored growth on live rock

Noticed this growth today and I cant find any info as to what it is... anyone recognize it?

I'm not convinced those are sponges. They're seem quite flat and at least one of them appears to have a possible mouth right in the center of what looks like an oral disc. A better picture would be helpful but these could be mushrooms.

You are correct. They appear to have mouths and there are 6 distinct ones all have the same shape and build in general.

The "mouth" is called an osculum. Many sponges have them, some even have multiples.
