I just got a Blasto frag from a big group I bought at an online sale. I thought they were similar to acans/favia, but the frag is one head on a kind of long stalk similar to a Duncan.

Should I allow that long stalk to stick out, with heads growing like that (like a Duncan) or should I place the head closer to rock for it to spread (like an acan).

And can anyone confirm blasto's lighting preference? What I see online is all over the map.

Thanks in advance!

Blasto's low to mod light low to mod flow.. put near bottom of tank.. Grow them like an Acan. Blastos are one of my favorites..

Awesome. That's what I thought. I think I just got a frag from a very big colony or something. Got in a ton of new corals I've never had access to before

Well, how about a pic then.. ? Give us a pic, Give us a pic!

Here it is, chilling in the sand bed for now.
