Curious as well, does it move? If not, it could be a plating algae.Anyone know what these/these are? Not sure how quickly they formed just noticed last night. Can’t have been more than a week or so
I haven’t noticed them moving.Do they move?
The blobs that almost appear like they are stacked?Looks like a vermatid. If so, crush them (ideally with bone cutters or something). They are a nuisance imo
Aren’t the vermetids the small while spirally guys?
There are ones with white tubes and ones with larger brown tubes. Even ones with black tubes that looks like black chrome.Aren’t the vermetids the small while spirally guys?
Or is the ID for the big purple blobs a Vermetid? That’s not what I thought they were.
But I’m not here asking about them. I have lots of them, not typically this bad but I’m looking for help in another area. There are ones with white tubes and ones with larger brown tubes. Even ones with black tubes that looks like black chrome.
best to put some super glue over them and kill them. If you do crush, do it out of the tank, rinse in some old tank water in a cup, apply some h2o2 via a qtip or small make up brush to the skeleton (avoid the polyps of the coral) let sit a minute or 2 and then rinse in another cup of old tank water. The h2o2 “busts” and gametes that came out when crushing and helps to prevent them spreading due to asexual reproduction.
I am referring to the “brown blobs”. Vermatid build a structure like that. Almost like a spiral weld of calcium deposits aka shell. But I’m not here asking about them. I have lots of them, not typically this bad but I’m looking for help in another area.
I’m asking about the brown blobs are they tough to see? Do you know what those are?
Most excellent, thank you for the clarification!I am referring to the “brown blobs”. Vermatid build a structure like that. Almost like a spiral weld of calcium deposits aka shell.
From your pics, looks like a vermatid.
