odd chalice behavior?

So if you look at this picture on the left side of the coral you can see new growth that has the whitish color to it. if you look though the white is extending out towards the back of the plug(still left side) and towards the front it is actually buckling under itself...

This just started a couple days ago. When the blues first come on in the morning it is not buckled. later when the whites come in it buckles on itself..

Had this chalice for a little over a year. stable parameters 0 nitrate /phosphate, 1.026-7 specific gravity, alk always 7.7-8 calc ~ 450 mag ~1400-50

anyone seen this behavior before ? All input is appreciated !!

That's fine. If you put the disk its on into the sand the chalice edge will ride up over the sand. The edge of the chalice is very flexible.
 
thanks for the reply, i took your advice and pushed the rock that the frag is glued on a little more into the sand. today the "skirt" has been pushed out over the sand
