Odd Green BTA Behavior

I've had my BTA for about a month or so now. Overall it acclimated nicely - it took a few days before it found a spot it liked.

A few days ago, I found it deflated, with its mouth wide open - I could clearly see it's innards. I thought for sure it was a goner.

I did a big water change, and this morning it was back to its big plump self, mouth closed.

However, this afternoon, it's back to being deflated and old-man-testicle looking. It caught a few mysis shrimp this morning.

What's up with BTA's? Is this normal behavior?

PS - It parked itself in a shady spot under a rock arch. Do they move if they don't get enough light? I'm worried it will 'starve' itself of PAR. I feed it about twice a week though.

Yes, Anemones will cycle through deflation and inflation. Its how they excrete waste.

Yes, Anemones will cycle through deflation and inflation. Its how they excrete waste.

Even with a gaping mouth with its guts exposed, eh? I've had poops like that myself.

How often do you feed? mine was frag plug size, when I first introduced, then it ballooned to size of my hand, it then deflated into a frag plug size, it retreated under a cave for months turning white, it kept poking small fingers out like it was testing my lights to see if it was safe (my thoughts anyway)
It just moved out on its own after a year and now comfortable hosting a clown fish.
In regards to spilling out guts, I'm unsure but more likely poop, you will definitely know difference between guts and poop
