I have a very acceptable lighting system (pics on my build thread.). It‘s all running on a nice lil program that simulates the rising and falling of the sun...

that’s what i am supposed to have right?

my normal prime viewing time on my tank keeps me in constant ....late evening... a lot of blue

I have been reading about my lighting. Your not supposed to make big changes once it’s established.

Can I get away with shifting everything by say... 2 hours? Just give myself a different time zone?

You certainly can. I would make the changes over a few weeks, maybe alter by 30 minutes per week for 4 weeks? Personally, I run my tank roughly noon to midnight - I stay up late and work normal hours, so that gives me quite a few hours with lights on at night.

Wow... I am normally more of a ... just do it kind of guy : )

All of the good advice here always involves making little changes over time. I am glad I asked!

happier you answered : )

I bet you could just do it, and that you would have few discernable ill effects if any. That doesn't mean they wouldn't exist, and it would probably throw off your fish schedules for a few weeks, particularly if you have any burying wrasses. But I wouldn't expect any major issues if you just did it, either.

I actually liked your suggestion : ) conservatism with an ecology can never be a bad idea
