So my oldest daughter pulled some large bristle worms out of her tank. Now the 5 year old is begging for a tank for them in her room.

I have a small 2.5 gallon mini bow front with the light and filtration built in the hood. Will this work long term for a "pest" tank setup? No coral, just bristle worms and maybe a few other pest.

Don't see why not. Use sand and old water from the display and you should be fine.

Getting ready to do a water change so that would work out well.

I'd put couple Sexy shrimps in there too.

Oooh, good idea. Was trying to think of other interesting things to put in there.

Oh come on, give her some Xenia!

Hmmm, I don't know if I have any extra Xenia to spare ;)

Seriously, this tank has three things I would never put in another tank on purpose (I bought as an existing set up), Xenia, GSP and green button polyps.

The green star polyps are one huge mat going from one side of the tank to the other (and up the back wall).

Ha! Cool idea! Maybe even look for some majanos. Those actually look nice (sometimes) but become a pest in a tank where you're trying to keep corals.
Majanos are pretty, kinda like little bubble tips lol and they should not need any special light.
Different, but I like it! Outside the box for sure.

Lol Yes, it is something different. I guess we will see how big a bristle worm will get

I think you have tons of Anthelia to spare. ;) Which is excellent, great coral for a Pico or Nano low maintenance care. Does the coral pump like Xenia?

Yes, it is pulsing Xenia so the fingers on it open and close (when not in high flow).

I cut most of it out every few months and give away a bunch of frags (colonies really lol) and it comes right back
