It's a 2 part thought. I'll post the 2nd question in a day or so.

First question:

How many of you have broken a piece of coral while doing something in your tank? (I assume followed by an 'oh crap, but hey, now I have a frag!' type moment)

I drop acans sometimes and half the corallite caves in :(

I used to always chip my monti cap during water changes. I knew I needed to trim it, but never wanted to lol. It was a love hate relationship.

I snapped a blue sponge I had a couple times. Was ticked because it was growing so fast but stopped. It started as just a big of sponge on a rock but grew like a branch at about 5 inches. I have a small base of it on a rock I still have so maybe it will grow again nicely in my new tank.

Mine kind of looked like this but I only had a couple branches of it.

That is a really cool sponge!

That is what mine looked like but that wasn't mine. I don't have an actual photo uploaded at this time of mine in it's largest form. It started out as just bits on rock and grew to branches similar to the photo posted above. This was the rock with the sponge when I first got it. The guy said it came from the Bahamas.
