My urchin, Archie...has been in the exact same spot for 6 days straight.
He has not dropped spines, he looks okay, he has literally fixed himself in place with his tube feet.
He has done odd things before like peeling turbo snails his size off the glass and eating them...lol...but for him, not moving from a spot in 6 days is very odd.
But overall he looks good.
And when i fed him a good sized piece of seaweed, he hammered it down in about 20 seconds.
Has anyone had this behavior from an urchin before ??

I believe it shows theres so much we dont know.

And if anyone has seen other odd behavior from their urchin or anything else in their tank that has stunned you when you've seen it, feel free to list what it is.
This type info can only help in the future.

You can clearly see him locked into place.

If he hasn’t dropped his spines and is eating, I’d chalk it up to him kicking back for the holidays.

And that is exactly what it looks like, just REALLY weird for him considering he never usually stops for more than a couple hours.

I have also seen what appears to be clear communication between Archie and a new tux urchin i have recently added.
Archie is a pincushion, the new one is a tuxedo.
They were touching, and when the new one would move, Archie would catch up quickly until they were touching again.
I thought he was going to eat the smaller new one given his history of hunting down huge snails, but instead he stayed next to the new tux and "touched spines"...waving them around and literally looking like they were stroking each others spines, with their tube feet going nuts and touching.
If i see it again I want to try to catch it on video and post it.

I've got a pincushion and tuxedo urchin in my 125. Periodically, one or the other will park in a low traffic spot of the tank for a few days. Don't know if they've ever gone a week though. They've been doing it for at least 3 years. Must be nice to take a days long nap. I sometimes think I could use one myself.;Yawn

Urchin looks good to me, hopefully it’s not stuck. What are your parameters? Have you check numbers to see if there’s been a drop or spike?
