I've Google vermited snail, tube worm and aptasia. This doesn't look like any of those. It is spreading and is branching. I've not seen anything come out of the tubes. The tubes are soft and come off with a toothbrush. Doesn't seem to be hurting anything but don't want it going everywhere if it's not a good guy.

Ps it's gotten mixed in with a paly I have. Could it be a sponge of some sort?

Looks like sponge. I had that come up about a year ago. I thought it would overrun the tank. I read somewhere that it was not a threat, and that it would come and go. Sure enough, it wasn't long before it started to subside. It's still in the tank, but I really don't see it much unless I move something. Don't take this as gospel. The pictures aren't great, and I don't want to steer you wrong.

It's funny aquanut I have been trying to find the answer to this all weekend. I post here and then look back a few posts and find a Pic of exactly what I have. KJ (I think he had a [emoji146] next to his name? ) replied to that post and said it was a sponge. Smh. Now I feel like an idiot. But good to know the aren't bad. I have my first pineapple sponge too.

Don't feel like an idiot! We are all here to support each other. The only dumb question is the one unasked. And for what it's worth, from my understanding, sponges are a sign of a tank coming into balance.

Sponge.;)

Agree;)

Don’t feel silly, I had the same one appear in my frag tank “overnight” I also thought it was a worm lol

See that's why I love this place. Thanks everyone. I thought being only 100 day's in it would be too early to see good things happening. Thanks again!
