I've been in this hobby for about 5 years. I have a 180 reef tank. I keep up on everything and for the last few years I wasn't able to keep certain lps for no reason and some stuff would die for no reason. Long story short every night I look At my tank with a flashlight and I'm blown away what I found. It was almost a 3 foot oenone fulgida worm. I can't believe

this has been in my tank. By the looks of it it's been there for years. I keep up on everything and always am putting my hands in my tank when I clean it etc. I can't believe it. I also found white slim stuff on dead snails corals etc but never thought it was from a worm. Goes to show you there really can be anything in your tanks and if anyone ever starts seeing there snails start to die off with white slime all over them it could be a oenone fulgida worm. They can eat everything and really such a bad pest and wicked hard to catch. I got wicked lucky I had the chance and time to grab my massive tweezers and grab it. Also there the fastest and best hidden problem in your tank so you really won't know or see one unless you can notice the slime. Well I'm just sharing and the pics don't even do justice it's so big.

I want one, not in a reef of course, but I think it would be cool to watch how exactly it lives and eats. I'm always fascinated by the critters we find in our tanks that we never intentionally put there. Glad you found it and got it out, hopefully it was the only one.

If I find anymore if you wanna pay for shipping you can have them Idc it's really sick just a coral eater

I can't believe it's been unnoticed all these years

Yeah I know but I'm gonna start looking now and I know what to look for so il keep you posted

For the record, I'm not squeemish around bugs but I would probably scream if I came upon that unexpectedly.

OMG!!
Such a cool pet! Im weird like that ;)
3 foot long is just amazine
Glad you noticed it as people put pieces of the puzzle together they usually can find the culprit.
Mine only got about a foot and a half long in my 125 before the teardown
Loved watching him at night :-)
