Off-centered tank on stand?

Misunderstood. I have not used coins nor any other materials to shim the tank or stand.
Thanks for clarifying; thought I saw some under left side of tank which seemed to have a small gap between it and stand. Would still go with adding plywood as an inexpensive fix.

Plywood is pretty much garbage if it continuously gets wet... I’d go with 2x4. Where ever you can fit and if it’s in sight throw some black paint on it. Cut them to length. Screw them to existing stand from the outside. Good to go..

What type of plywood should I get?

Also will I need to glue/screw the new top onto the old top?

I've made four stands over the past 4 - 5 weeks and really like THIS plywood from HD....I think I've purchased five sheets. It was selling for 31.98 per 4x8 sheet, but about two weeks ago it went up to 34.98. Both sides look pretty good, but the one side is nicely finished. It will take paint/stain/polyurethane very nicely....PROTECTING the plywood from occasional water.

It is a rimless tank. I would add some styrofoam under it. To equal pressures out.
Its only a 30g so i think it will hold it. Maybe add some braces right under the tank to support.
What scares me are these metals with 4 screw which hold the plates together.... lows has some good 4 x 4 wood mounting brackets which look similar.. maybe you want to add 2 more.

I thought so too what's the white stuff and is there a gap under that left corner?

There isn't a gap between the tank and stand, there is a foam leveling mat.

The white stuff is just leftover foam protection that I wrapped the tank in when I had to lay it face down to drill holes on the back glass.

That's still plenty cheap enough. Thing is, I don't have a saw to cut it to size so I was looking at this...

Would that work or no?

Most hardware stores will sell particle board or for a little more, nicer plywood. I would go with the nicer stuff.
