Hi everyone.
Got my first acropora yesterday and seeing it’s my first, I’ve no idea whether I’m off to a good start with it?. There’s polyp extension there.
Colours (I think) have washed out a little- but that could be because they were in shipping bag for nearly 48 hours!- following issues with delivery company !
Anyway, I’ve attached pictures.
It’s not even 24 hours since it’s been in the tank yet.
Also got a Montipora yesterday, which I’ve also added to the pictures

Thanks all :)

Looks good man! I reccomend posting a pic without blues on so we can see the tissue of the coral and give you a better update on how the corals look. Also if you want to post your parameters that would also be helpful :)

Sorry for the delay in reply! Been caught up in work.
It’s a week old in the tank now. The polyps seem to sway more in the night than in the day. This is the best pic I seem to be able to get with blues off. Hope it’s helpful.
Look good??

Parameters-
KH 7.3-7.6 (stable)
Ca- 480/ish
PH-8.0-8.4
Mg-1580
Salinity- 1025-1026

Nitrates-5ppm
Nitrites/0ppm.

They’re fed reefroids x2 weekly.

Thanks.

yeah man parameters look good as well as the coral itself
What would be the signs that it’s taking a turn for the worse, what should I look out for?; apart from the obvious of the polyps closing up
Thanks
Emma

honestly you would see tissue recession from the base up or from tips down, lack of color leading to white skeleton (bleaching)

At the bottom of the coral..... is that receding tissue or is it where it’s been glued to the plug?

To me it looks like it is encrusing over a rock or something that it was used to glue upon the plug. Ur coral looks healthy.

Ah good, thanks.
Hopefully it’ll stay like that.
Thanks for you advice.
