id say anything under 40, so 39 and under, so i voted 37, but i can accept the 30 and under category as well

You almost have to go for dimensions.

I plan on building a 24x24x20 cube, which will be around 50 gallons, but clearly the footprint is that of a nano.

you almost have to look at it like how people view fish.

just because you have 50 gallons doesnt mean you can get a tang.

Especially if your 50 gallons of tank only spans a 2 foot wide space.

We all need reconsider how we look at tanks.

Sometimes not by their overall gallons, but the footprint.

but a 50 gallon cube is still a big cube lol haha but i def agree with you and see what you mean! some people would think they could have a tang bc its a 50 gallon tank when in that foot print it would be a BIG no no!

Its a big cube as far as water volume is concerned, but actually quite small as far as foot print.

usually nanos mean small, so if it takes up a small space, we cant limit it to just gallons.

I will consider my cube a nano tank, even at 50 gallons because its only 2 feet.

ok so a pico tank would be under 5 gallons then?

I voted 29 and under. I think any bigger, while it may be comparatively small to other tanks, is not a nano.
Definition of nano=1/1,000,000,000...that's pretty small
