I am thinking of setting up a Nano Tank at my work office.

For those that have one what was a good manageable size? I am only thinking of one or two fish and maybe some "bullet proof" corals.

What challenges did you encounter having the tank at work?

For those that have done this would you recommend doing it and why or why not?

How did you handle weekend/ vacation feedings?

Thanks in advance.

I set up a saltwater office tank for my boss one year. Worst. Mistake. Ever. I came in on weekends, was the only one to feed and do maintenance (on a 250g).
Would not recommend
If it’s just yours, I would def check with HR and safety first. A 15-20 would be manageable for easy corals and missing a day or two of feedings and top offs. I would invest in a good light with internal timers though.

I have a 30 gallon office tank, you can check out my build thread for some more information

I picked 30 because water changes were manageable at 3 gallons a week. I have 4 fish and mostly soft corals.

Things to think about are maintenance. Do you plan to come in on the weekends to do it, stay late after work once a week. Also try to eliminate as many issues as you can. Have redundancy build in. Use less equipment. Keep it simply. I have two tanks and I love that I get to stare at this one all day.

Definitely get an All-in-One (AIO) of some type to keep it simple. This is our office 32-gallon BioCube. Fish get fed well on a Friday and they make it just fine to Monday— even a 3-day weekend. (They don’t eat when they get shipped across the world, right?) Best wishes!
