I feed about 3 times a week and mix it up. Mine gobble Mysid and brine as well as pellets.
They also seem to respond well to a little PolyLab / Reeffrenzy in the water to get them primed for eating.

I feed about 10pm. It took very little time for them to get used to eating with the lights on. I'm pretty sure they can taste the Solcon or Reef Frenzy in the water and that has them primed by the time I make it to their side of the tank ;)

I'll play.....

Bought this guy 2 years ago from my LFS who said it was a tank rescue. It was very small and half it's skeleton was showing. When I lost all my corals(still no idea what happened) a year or so back, this and my torch are the only ones who made it.

It's now a stunning piece.

When I bought it for only 20$

And today...Not a great pic, but it loves it under this overhang.

How often and what do you all feed your scolys. Just wondering because I was told they can starve and need to be fed.

They do need to be fed. Timing is everything.

I had one in a 29g tank several years ago. Wish I had better pics. It was a bit of a rescue. I paid very little for it. It was the size of a nickel and receded. Looking back, I should not have bought it. Lucky me. It turned into a beauty about a year later. It was about 2-1/2 inches across in this pic.

In my experience, most LPS will take food if presented at the right time of day. Eating helps them grow faster. Not sure if it makes them any healthier. I wouldn't know how to quantify that. But they do appear to grow faster.

I should have said, "They can be fed." in my first post. I don't know that they "need" it.
