Official introductions!

Hello y'all!

I've been on the forum for a few months now, but wanted to stop in here and officially say howdy!

I'm currently a student in deep South Texas trying to build a little piece of reefing-heaven on a budget, though I have run into what one member here has called "10 years worth of problems" in 6 months. But I'm still going!

I did want to give a shout out to @NY_Caveman for immediately following along with my thread and offering words of advice and encouragement.

Thanks for all the great info here on R2R!

BTW - we've got a lot of TX members. A good one to know is @mch1984

Greetings from "that old guy"

;Hilarious
Old = wisdom right? lol. Also, I've enjoyed looking through your "Cube under $1000" thread, nice work! If I had more time on my hands when starting this tank, I definitely would've tried a more DIY route to save some money.

Thank you! @mch1984 has got a great little zoa rock, I'll have to pick his brain on that. I think on my small system that will be my focal point. Interesting tidbit: Midland, Tx is 550 miles from Edinburg.

Welcome :) Hope the stay is nice and warm, we do get a little cold sometimes but its nothing more than a wind chill :p
Thank you! It's been warm so far and it looks like as long as I don't put a tang in my 15-gallon it shouldn't get too cold. :p

Thanks for the kind words and following along. It's not a typical build thread but it's interesting at least. :)

Oh, believe me, I am familiar with the vastness of TX. I've made the east to west drive across it on Rte. 10 and then back again. Nothing much to see after getting 1/2 way into west TX on 10 other than rattlesnakes and the occasional sand storm.

Well spoken. My biggest issue that I see in the near future is trying to find a good frag swap. It looks like San Antonio may be my best bet, but that is still just over a 3-hour drive for me. But, I'm taking it slow this time, so no rush.

Welcome to the family. We're delighted to have you here.

After a quick google search, I agree! (Turns out I am NOT old enough lol.)
