Official RAP NY Photo Thread!!

So vendors had things like buy 3 frags get 1 free, (so about $25/ frag) or things like 5 frags for $100.
I also got a black widow nem for $100, Arizona sunburst nem for $200. Overall it helps to know what you might be looking for in advance or the going prices so not overwhelming...

Also saltwater.com etc was 10% off PLUS tax. Neptune booth also was plus tax. I was looking to get the trident reagent. It was $5 less at the show, but figured for $5 extra I can ship it from BRS to my door and not worry about carrying 6 month supply around lol

Oh yes there were definitely some deals but on nothing I wanted lol.

I was aiming for a noon arrival but was delayed 2hours in traffic ended up getting there at 2pm. Stuck around until almost 5pm after the raffles... wasn't looking forward to the rush hour traffic on the way back. On the bright side I only used up like 1/4 tank of gas the whole trip.

You get stuck in that car fire on the NJ TP? I passed it on my way home, traffic was silly going north bound.

Looks like it’d be a lot of fun. However looking at the pricing, I honestly couldn’t say I’d want to go just to pay current retail. To me the shows are for the deal not for the look what I got. Then again, I guess that’s what the local clubs are for instead of the super commercialized shows

This one was too close to upcoming MACNA for which MACNA blows this one away

Never been to Macna. Is it that good? I didn’t really enjoy second Rap in Chicago that much.
I’m glad Macna is in Milwaukee soon! Of course i will be there!

Macna is the grand daddy of shows. Better raffles, more vendors, well known speakers, more samples and better deals although RAP has some pretty fair deals.

Had to share a couple more pictures. I’m no professional photographer by any means, as a matter of fact, @joshporksandwich had to show me how to take coral pictures! I am honored to meet him in person.(Very friendly, humble and amazing person)

I am glad I attended my first reefapalooza. And I will do it again and again and again. Also @revhtree was giving out some hugs! (Chocolates)

That’s definitely a great deal. I can get one semi local (2 hours away) about 2” for $110 but I’m sure there were some deals to be had, just the pricing I’ve seen from the pics is local retail price for me or higher in some cases. I would expect maybe 10-25% off retail so I’d likely leave disappointed if I had travelled for it but it’s always good to see these still being popular

Tip for future reference... the event draws alot of people and vendors that otherwise would be far away, so for anything you really want I reach out before the event. Confirm item availability, prices etc

That's how I secured the Rainbow Eclipse zoa... almost no one (that i saw?) had them, one vendor got a frag for me.

This was my first RAP and I was overwhelmed with the amount of vendors. I got a bunch of cheap frags and also got to meet Ryan from BRS and March from Fragbox who even hooked me up with a free zoa frag!! Such a nice guy. Overall AMAZING experience and I can't wait for next year.

couldn’t edit my post, so here’s an acclimated recent DT picture of the tank after RAP this saturday!

my beloved jawfish decided it was time to move his home from under the GSP island on the left to the middle scoly pentagon dead center of the tank..

Absolutely…this is true I do have a list but it was more eye candy and the experience for me and I did get some fun things!

We got there yesterday around 12. Hung around for 2 hours. Got few frags. Deals to b had but also good amount of telephone numbers. @RiptideAquaculture Mitch making deals. Ty for the Easter egg w the monti purchase. Especially on the lords 5 for 100. Some cherry sps too. Fifth alarm fire had some nice frags and zoanthids.com always. Caught up w JF and got a nice pimped out tenuis and a yellow tip for a good deal. Ultimate corals had some nice WD for 100. And other nice frags. Smaller then I thought it would b and clam selection was limited. Pacific east had a great deal on healthy clams but no squammy which was what I was looking for. Glad to see Mr Sprung in attendance. One of The Godfather’s of the hobby. And shout out to my @Absolutely Fish people in attendance on the hunt for the next best thing. Lol. Good crowd. Good experience. Glad we are back to a somewhat new normal. Happy Reefing.
