Well Andy I really have no idea. I have it directly under the 250w light all the way on the sand and it's leaned up against the rock. It is not getting high flow, but it's getting good flow. When I got it home it was shedding a bit. I didnt wipe it off, I put it in that spot, and the current took all of it off eventually. It stays open all the time now day and night.
I really don't know.
