I've gotten reprimanded a couple times over there for my posts, it seemed a little excessive but it's a huge community and I'm sure difficult to monitor.

Are they a for-profit company?

The Mods there are too black & white and should be more reasonable. Not sure if that message should come from RC first, or if it's the personality of the Mod.

So I got a nasty gram yesterday from the RC mod with attitude for the same thread. I told the poster "I have a 10 gallon gathering dust in the basement, its all yours." This MOD decided my posting was so egregious that he cited me! Thats two citations from the same mod in less than a month. I think he must be off his meds or something. :loco:

What rule exactly are they claiming you guys violated? I just can't see how offering something to someone for free can hurt their community in an way.....

Apparently we neglected to specifically use the exact word "free" in our posts. Please understand we were responding to a post requesting a "donation" for a school project. Saying its all yours or take it away, was just too much for this MOD to take and walked all over his sense of "full disclosure" on price. Its really insane. MODs gone power crazy...

I got dinged/warned even though I was trying to give something away. The MOD said that "free" is still a price and I should have stated it.

I'm sure they are. I'm sure they come check this site and see people bashing them. Have to remember it's not like mods sit in a reef central office and watch the site. They are just like me and you checking the sites out chilling at home. I'm sure other members even link the threads to them

Lol. I got banned from brief central as well. Been so long I can't remember what it was about, but it was pretty ridiculous and was a result of a power tripping ego trip.
Oh well reef2reef is so much better as well as a few other sites I go to
