Hi all. Got a big problem. I have an OG bounce mama that over the past three days starting, melting I guess? He just has had it's mouth open and the white stringy stuff coming out. Well today I noticed it is starting to melt, it has two small holes other than it's mouth with stuff coming out. The mouth is wide open. Nothing is close to it. Tank has been doing excellent with awesome growth recently. It is still alive because it reacts when I touch it but I am afraid it's going to be dead soon. Any opinions as to what to do? I have many other corals and mushrooms with no problem s at all. Nothing has changed. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

How is flow? Looks like the bubbles are pushed to one side? Maybe get it into a slightly darker, low flow area and leave it alone for a while. Don't feed it or poke it.

Good luck!

+1, they like really low flow, I personally have mine in an area where the bubbles basically don’t sway. I remember seeing a thread like yours awhile ago, I’ll try and find it.

This is with the flow off. They are laying down in this photo. It is in the lowest flow area of the tank. The bubbles don't move at all. Maybe I'll put it in a big mushroom box I got to have it get no flow at all. Thanks all

So my summary of the other thread, just move it to a very low light area with very minimal flow and let it be for awhile. Btw Welcome to R2R!

Thanks all, doing MUCH better. Moved to lower flow. I know flow wasn't the initial issue because it was in the same spot for months and nothing changed in my tank. It is almost like the thing got sick. It threw up for 4 days, got three holes in it. All of its bubbles got holes in it. Not it is almost back to normal looking. Wonder why this happened...very strange. Thanks a bunch tho all!
