So I just purchased an og bounce from wwc yesterday. It only had 1 bubble and it looked fine at store. I woke up today to find it like this

The bubble is completely shriveled up. I am doing a water change later and will be checking parameters tmrw. Is it normal for them to shrivel up for a day or two after you bought them?

The mushroom itself looks fine and not closed up. The bubble being deflated for a few days isnt much of a concern IMO.

When it eats or touched sometimes youll see it close its entire body up around its mouth and it will essentially look like an extra large closed up zoa polyp similar to an anemone.
If it were in that state for more than 2 days i would worry but it looks open and happy for now.

Wow thanks a lot!! If it starts closing up I’ll update this thread but for now you’ve answered all my questions

Update: this is the second day I have had it and the bubble has not inflated as of right now. I noticed that the mouth was expelling something black. (iPhone pic) @Saltyreef

So today I noticed small white worm like things on the coral. I will see them on one spot of the Bounce but an hour later they are gone. Does anyone know what they are and if so should I dip?

Could it be your water quality
I don’t think so. The tank had been running for close to 2 years now and I have sps that is doing fine. Also I tested all levels just the other day and everything was alright. I will be testing again today.

It still looks ok.
If it were on its way out it would start bleaching with the mouth gaped open like a nem.

Like this (photo attached)

Id give it a couple weeks before you start worrying. It could simply be a difference in parameters from where it was kept vs your tank.

Like high alk tank to low alk tank.

I have a koji wada pink nepthea that receeded to a tiny nub, thought it was a gonner. But its been the small nub for nearly a year. Now finally starting to grow again.
As long as its not completely gone, soft corals have a surprising way of bouncing back from thr brink of death.
