Oh Arcylic.

So I just wanted to share my incident with a crowd who will understand. Setting up my new acrylic tank and while doing the rock work, tumble and just a little, but deep, scratch now on the side. Don't we hate in this hobby how quickly excitement can turn to frustration? I think we're just going to leave it alone, because while its noticeable, it's smaller and on the side (of a cube, but still). With rocks setup and glued there's no telling what a repair may or may not do and this is the first time we've had acrylic so not worth the risk. I was so careful, but I guess it gets that first dreaded scratch out of the way. Ill just be reminded of this day every time I look at the little scratch/chip. Thanks for listening

Ya know I love the price and the way a Arcylic looks so clear but with kids in the house that is why i stayed with glass.

I had an acrylic tank once. I scratched it often and the bends in it were strange. It made fish swimming in it go from looking like they were 3" to 7" long. All glass for me from now on

Thanks everyone! I'm glad I'm not alone. My first attempt at acrylic. My other tank is glass. Someone we scratched that one before we set it up too so we must have bad luck. Thankfully no one else can usually see these things so I should be in the clear. Can't wait to get it up and running and start a new thread.

The idea of acrylic sure frustrates me, I'm sticking to the glass!!!
