Oh man... I GOOFED!!

I feel like such an idiot... Last Sunday, I cleaned the canister filter on my 32g tank. put everything all back together, filled it back up and walked away, satisfied with a job well done.

A few minutes ago, while feeding, I noticed something that made me start wondering... I don't see the food being blown around in the current from the return like it should... I wonder what's wrong? Check it out and low and behold... the filter is not plugged in. Woops. Plug it in, problem solved.

What I didn't consider is that I have 3 gallons of water that has been sitting stagnant for the last 5 days inside that filter. My entire house smells like the inside of a skimmer cup now!! UGGHHHHH...

The worst (or funniest) part, depending on your perspective, is I did the EXACT same thing a couple months ago... You would think I would have learned... :sigh:

I just did this same thing 7 day old water in 15 feet of 1inch hose plumbed off a manifold into my frag tank. It stunk so bad I did 30% water change right away and 20% the next day I hen 10 the third and didn’t seem to have any issues besides the initial smell

every once in a while we drift.
Try what I did yesterday taking copy machine apart, repositioning paper and even changing toner to remedy why the unit is in alarm. Maybe if I signed in to copier , it would have printed like it was supposed to . . . Duh
