OH NO, another 40B

Yes im sure. At first I thought it was red coralline and started to get excited. Then I blew it off the rocks and started to get sad. My lights are 30-70-60. If I remember correctly.

Ok I think I may have found the culprit...me! Tell me what you think. I was making some fresh RO/DI water. And I saw my TDS meter was reading 13 in. So I let it run. Checked it later, maybe 5 minutes or so and it read 2 and the out was 0. I did not check the out when it was reading 13. I figured it would mix in with the good stuff and I'd be ok. I guess I was wrong. Could that be it? What should I do? Was thinking of making some more water and stop using that. What do you guys say? Thanks.

Anybody have neptune apex they could answer a few questions I have please need help!!

Just did some testing, changed my light intensity, started to dose Kalk(I think I should stop). Tell me what you think. Still have Cyano and Diatoms, but I do see some purple coralline coming in. Here are my parameters:
Cal-500
Alk-12.5
Mag-1500
Ph-8.2
Nitrate-20
Nitrite&Ammonia-0
Phosphates-.04

Ca=high
Alk=high
Mag=high but ok.
Nitrates=high for reef ok for fish only.
PO4=high.
Personally I'd stop the Kalk.
Are you over feeding? What are you feeding. What is the temp?

how high from waters surface are your lights?
My whites max out at 20% & Blues @ 30% @ 12 1/2" from surface.

Yeah I've cut back on the amount I've been feeding. Was probably overfeeding. Doing a water change today. Thought I should stop the Kalk. Thanks for confirming. I'm feeding once a day LRS reef Frenzy.
Flow is dual MP10 Skimmer is Omega 130.

Mine lights are the same length from the water as yours. Really, 20% and 30%. Everything thriving and all? Can I see some pics of what they look like over your tank? Thanks.

Also Nana, what is your lighting schedule? Do you have them ramping up? If so, by 10, 20, or 30 minute intervals?

I'm using the 8hr-30minute from this chart. Will run this for about a week or more. See how it goes from there.

Yea I think I'm burning my tank. It seems like a lot of people are running shorter and less intense than I am. I think I'm gonna try that schedule on my 40breeder.
